Yes, Cliff's Natural Resources in the U.P. was formerly know as Cleveland Cliff's. They had posted several job openings for the Empire and Tilden mines (Palmer and Negaunee, MI) on the Michigan Works website about 2 months ago. They had thousands apply for these openings.
Out of all the applicants a couple hundred people were selected to advance to the hiring process and to come to Marquette on 11-6 to take a 5 hour battery of tests. I was one of them.
I was told Cliff's was hiring between 120 and 160 people and that they had hoped to have all positions filled by the first of the year.
All of us taking the test were told that we would be notified one way or the other starting about 2 weeks after the testing session.
Tomorrow will be 3 weeks and I was wondering if anyone had heard anything yet.
