clutch kit by goodwin

I installed a clutch kit from Goodwin on my 04 700 xcsp with perc. It went well with new spring (purple) weight 10-66 and new helix. It is damn snappy! But it makes a noise in reverse. Did they give me wrong parts? Would it be a different helix for a sled with reverse? The belt rides real nice in driven clutch, didn’t need to adjust? Have any tips or info? Thank for the help

The new helix and the old one should look the same, just a different angle. The clunk you are hearing, is it only when going from foreward to reverse, or all the time in reverse? A clunk from foreward to reverse is just the helix shifting from one ramp to the other, so the clutch can open the other direction. It should not clunk continuously though. You may even notice a little clunk from reverse to foreward, but only one clunk.

check your chain case belt tension-not unusual to hear a clunk if you have too much play in the chain when going into reverse

It was the belt deflection? It looked good from visual inspection. Put a strait edge and measured. Was off by a 1/4 in should be 1 1/4 of slack in belt! thanks for all the help
