Clutches

I have a 96 Trail Touring 488 fan with 9200 miles. Nothing ever done to the clutches. Seems to me that they do not engage promptly. What is probably causing this? I assume it could be the springs. Any suggestions appreciated.

With that many miles, it could be LOTS of things. Weights, weight bushings, pins, primary buttons (forget their specific name), springs (Primary and/or secondary), secondary buttons.

I'd suggest taking it to someone who has the tools to take them apart and inspect.

Yep they need a complete rebuild.... If you are worn down into aluminum anywhere just buy new ones. I just rebuilt my primary and parts were $350.. Free Labor (me) A new clutch is just over $400
