My wife has some collector coins she is going to be selling probably to a local dealer. We don't know much about them as they were an old gift. How can we be sure we get a fair prices? Maybe a reputable buyer in the central U.P.? Thanks!!
Make sure to know at least a little bit of info about your coins first (google is great for this). Remember that your local dealer is out to make a buck also & they usually are only going to offer the spot price of the metal in hand. If they are U.S. coins you can also go to http://www.pcgs.com/ and look at their price guide.
