If you are itching for snow, Colorado has all of it and more!!! Just got back from riding Hahn's Peak area about 40m north of Steamboat. Stayed at Steamboat Lake Outpost (formerly known as Hahn's Peak Roadhouse). Deepest snow we've ever ridden and un-touched pow all day long! Getting there was another story... One section of 80w was shut down which wasn't terrible. Later in the day we had to turn around and head back to a town (Walden) two hours from our destination due to a COMPLETE WHITE OUT on 14w before you get to Rabbit Ears. Ears was so deep, they were recommending expert riders only. Avi danger had also been extreme for several days, think it went down some now. Anyway. If you are wondering where all the snow is, we found it!!!!!!!!!

Is there any trail riding in that area ?
Not particularly. They do some grooming but it's not every day. Typically hit them 1-3 times a week. For the northern section of CO, North Routt Snow Riders is your club to follow for updates on grooming.

Is there anywhere in CO that has a decent network of trails ? To justify a road-trip from MN it would be ideal to base from a town or resort and have 3 or 4 loops of 150 to 200+ miles per day. We’ve been to West Yellowstone and that works for the varied loops with this mileage but right now the conditions there don’t look very good. CO has always intrigued us but we’ve not looked into it until now.
