Coming to ride the trails!

I think I know the Rockland/Mass/Twin area fairly well but have never really explored much in the summer. A friend and I are headed up tonight and going to be taking out the street legal dirt bikes for a few days or riding and exploring. I want to see if anyone can recommend anything cool to see while I'm there. I'm thinking anywhere between Bruce's, Bergland, White Pine, Lake in the Clouds, Onto, Rockland, Mass, Twin, South Range, Baraga, Sidnaw and back. I'm getting an ATV map for all the areas I ride and have been all through these areas by car in the summer/fall and as far as you can go on a sled in the winter. Any ideas are appreciated.

Ideas:
1. Scenic stuff
2. Areas to see wildlife
3. Beaches
4. Cool terrain to ride
5. Places to eat that might be closed during the winter months

You should see if you can make it up the BFH on your dirt bike!

Been there on my bike and made a few passes at it, the loose sand on the hill makes it tough & I had good tires. If the was some moisture in the sand it wouldn't be a problem but it was realy dry when we were up there. Made it about 20 ft. from the top everytime, using 3rd gear wfo throttle on my WR400F. I plan on taking my YZ450F and my KX5 hillclimber with the paddle tire on it up sometime this summer, maybe bring the Harley hillclimber also. There's some good riding all around there.

cuzz, I say go for it, if ya don't make it turn around and try again

You won't find a better resource than Hunt's Guide to Michigan's UPPER PENINSULA.
The on-line version is eminently searchable (Check out the Regions link on the menu in the left column, among others.) The paper Map Guide is a steal at only $6.95 too.

Check out Old Victoria and then the Victoria Dam and reservoir.

When up by Twin Lakes, check out Clear Lake, and then head over to Misery Bay Beach.

Hope you brought the bug dope for when you stop moving!

I'm taking notes on all of these spots!

I decided next trip up to da UP, I'm not showering for a few days and am then gonna take a bath in 100% deet - dual purpose of keeping away bugs and people who bug me!?! (and it'll give people who I bug an excuse to not stick around too! ;) )

had a nice river crossing, good current pushed me downstream but I made it with the old 86 Honda 2 wheel drive fourtrax 250 cc. We started in Greenland, shot down to wilderness rd and rode all the way up to Misery Bay, over to Krupps for a turkey sammy and back home. Awesome day of riding it was.

no, the trails are usually fine. I was looking for this stuff off the beaten path. You'll be fine. I have a similar machine to your blaster, a Polaris 400 sport (2 stroke). There are some nice trails all over up here and these machines work well. Post some pics of your ride if you can!

The 527 if you take that east it turns into sleepy hollow rd and takes you into Paulding or you can head back north on CE trail on the Mi-Trail map Have FUN!!

any pics from your adventures cuzz?

Here are a few shots. We didn't take as many pics as I would have liked. Good times besides the thousands of bug bites, the hydro-locked engine on my buddies bike and the swamp riding we did trying to get to the big pond off of trail 13.

1. On powerlines between Rockland and Mass.
2. Same as 2.
3. Rockland lookout
4. Little Church in Rockland
5. Rockland General store
