Any reports from today in either of these areas? We are staying in silver city and trying to figure out where to go tomorrow. Thanks!

We are up here in Houghton but turned around this morning the trails are wash boarded out doesn't even seem like the groomers are out. Can someone up here give some insight on what is going on we did the loop yesterday north of the bridge and from Lake Linden to Houghton was ok but the other side coming through Hancock and back around was REALLY bad and when we started today it was bad wondering if the groomers are down or what is happening? This isn't like normal up here usually see a couple groomers a day haven't seen one all trip and we started on Thursday but we have been north of Bridge wondering how the trails are south? 3 is a wreck. Any insight we would like to get some more riding in but don't feel like getting the crap beat out of us.

As for amount of snow there is still a ton of it as for the condition of riding not so much very rough in 3 and 17

Like I said don't mean anything mean but this was just wondering since I was pretty cool like night in the thirty's figured they would come knock some of it down. What is the normal temp that they will groom at? That is why I was asking to do some planning if we should stay or make another trip since it looks like the next couple weeks are gong to get cooler again. Just wondering is thirty's still to warm to groom what is the temp for good grooming? Like I said not meaning the to be a jerk and I know the internet everyone jumps on everyone this is just a question that hopefully one of you can answer for future knowledge and trip adjustments since I bring a lot of people to the area and like them to have to true HOUGHTON great experience that we know and love.

It didn't come off as a legit question. It sounded like a BITCH fest. Especially when you make two posts about the same thing within minutes.

I didn't see anywhere you said "Don't mean anything mean " in this post, buried in your other, at the end, last paragraph

Well as you can see I have been a member since 2009 and don't usually if ever post because things can be read into wrong "case in point". Like texting someone usually doesn't have the meaning till you read it back yourself and see that yeah it could be taken that way, as for the double post that was my bad didn't realize that I was hijacking someone else thread with the reply button and wasn't on purpose therefor started a new one. So SWEEPERGUY from the name I take it that you are one of the groomers and was asking a true question about temps at which they or you can groom at. Thanks Skylar for the direct and nice response on the other post.

Yes, there are people on here that will jump down your throat for the littlest thing and especially if you happen to type something you meant a different way.

I'm not a groomer operator or an expert on this subject in any way...but what I think is the case is even when it may dip below freezing at night by a few degrees that is not enough to warrant the groomers to go out if the next day if the temps are going to be warm. It doesn't make any sense to have someone spend 6 hours or more (sometimes not paid hours either) grooming trails if they aren't going to firm/set up over night and then get trashed almost immediately once it warms up.

I wasn't looking to jump down someones throat. My first response was one line. TO WARM TO GROOM.
However when people are going to make multiple posts about the same thing, it can only come off with a meaning of being a complaint, (or a B....) not a QUESTION. I think the groomers in the Kee are some of the best anywhere.

As far as sledn6 being a member since 09. Then he should have had some idea that grooming can only be done with good temps. There have been MANY posts on this subject over the years.
And if he's aware that when he writes something and it has been taken to have a different meaning in the past. Then maybe re-reading posts before submitting should be in order.

I can't disagree with that. If you are a regular visitor to this forum you should definitely know this information.

Why cant someone ask a simple question without people jumping down there throat. If you do not like a persons question DO NOT reply. Where are the moderators for this site. This is getting old.

See post #9

sweeperguy You do not know the poster from Adam. What if he was a vet that had a head injury or maybe a person that has Autism and just likes to ride a snowmobile. Or some child that is mentally retarded and would like to ride. You do not have the right to bully anyone on this site. It does not matter if you have 1344 posts or7 posts. If you don't have anything positive to post why post it at all ?

One of the mods "threatened" to take action awhile back if people didn't start acting more civil......

not sure how thats going.....

but its usually the same cast of characters that piss and moan all the time.
Though I don't usually see sweeper guy in this cast of characters.... maybe just having a bad day.

Maybe you should heed your own advice. Don't see anything positive in this post.

It's going pretty good srt20! I'm not "threatening" anyone. Since then, I have noticed much less of the personal attacks etc. and don't really see anything here that breaks the rules, but I may not have seen all the posts before they were edited.

sledn6,

No need to apologize, I don't think you did anything that warrants an apology. Please continue to post when you want to and ignore some of the replies and we will do the best to monitor them. It is sad that people are afraid to post because of the negative reactions they will get. I know I feel that way when making posts and it is a shame. We would need the original poster, dieselguymike, to ask for this thread to be deleted otherwise anyone could ask for any thread to be deleted.
