Where do you see rain?? The "Live" shot is showing downtown Hancock with melting snow running across the road. Sure, road crossings & anything in town is going to be bare on the main streets,, it is March. The current temp is +41 & mostly sunny & according to the NWS, we should have temps in the mid to upper 20's to near 30 Tues with low of 3, Wed high +10 low -4, Thurs high 30 low 23, Fri high 33, slight chance of a few snow showers Tues, Wed & Fri..... Don't forget, we have 48+" of pack on the ground, it won't be going anywhere for a while.-Mezz

Hey, how bad will it be getting though Hancock? I have never been through town after a big warmup and don't know what to expect. Thanks.

You should be fine there is alot of snow, once of the lift bridge just a few streets to cross going through Dollar Bay

That is fine as long as they head north via trail 3 & not 17 which involves going through Hancock. The trail out of Hancock will be a mess simply because it runs next to 41 for most of it. Once you get outside of the city, other than road crossings, no problem.-Mezz

If you're heading to Copper, stay on 3 after the bridge like Bradzoo says. If your looking for things in Hancock or Calumet you'll end up with a lot more bare spots or other stuff like Mezz is saying. Either way, it's not long and if you don't like one way on the way north, go the other way when you're coming home. Just remember, things can change quickly if its cold and the wind is blowing. The great snow on the trails will make up for the few bad spots in town anyway.

Yep, things are pretty terrible going through Hancock - only a 25 inch (smooth) base as compared to a 30-35 inch (smooth) base everywhere else... hahahahaha

While the point of this picture (from yesterday) wasn't exactly to capture trail conditions in Hancock, you still get a feeling of how deep the trail base is.

we were thinking of doing the copper harbor thing on a day by itself and possibly trailering there as ive ridden 3 from ontonagon when it was mogels the whole way and to avoid what i thought would be all bare roads
