Copper Harbor

Wife wants to go up to Copper Harbor when we are up north over Columbus day weekend. Our place is on LG so we don't make it that far often, only been there by sled with a 160 mile ride back home... If we drive up for a day trip (with 2 kids aged 3 and 6 mo's) what are the must sees or fun things to do for a day? This should be peak color time so Brockway is a must.

Maybe take the boat over to the lighthouse, check out the old Army fort, take them to see the Monks over by Eagle River, MI...

Don't want to rain on your Columbus day weekend but call ahead 1st. CH starts shutting down after Labor Day. My wife & I went to CH may have been Columbus day weekend & most everything food, hotel, stores & sites were shut down or wrapping up that weekend which put crowds in places that were open so we waited a lot for everything not many employees available. We took pictures of the lighthouse from the bay hiked along the shoreline & hiked every waterfall in the area which are well marked did Brockway & had time on our hands. There is also a ship museum pictures of many wrecks & stuff from wrecks that I liked. 1 day is plenty of time but like I said call ahead & check. A lot slower driving a car to CH & Brockway than by sled. lol
