Corridor-21 south of Butternut, Wis.

Noticed on Thursday that Corridor-21 heading south from Butternut (Ashland County) is still being rerouted due to "Open Water" according to a sign where the reroute starts. Hmmmm. Extreme cold temperatures have been with us for almost all of February, wonder where or what the open water problem is. Anybody?

You are now forced to use Butternut Lake... the lake route is not marked and could be very confusing to someone unfamiliar.... someone has stuck a TON of $ into the bar/restaurant/resort on the south end of Butternut Lake; now your only option to get between Butternut and PFalls is directly through their parking lot. I'm not confident a 'water' issue still exists on the land route either; read into it what you wish.....

Was riding up from the south in that area and found the dead end trail. It was not marked as closed very well from the south. rode all the way to the highway and had to back track. The detour takes you directly to the beautiful $$$$ bar on Butternut lake. I usually never need a map but found myself asking a lot of questions on how to get north to Butternut. Lake not marked? That is now the main route to the north. Could use some better signs or markings for someone that is not familiar with the area!

Last year the through town trail was a little murky also. They needed a new bar/grill in Butternut. Will try to get there next season and check it out. Very nice area to ride.

I know the AWSC Director for Price Cty and have alerted him to this issue. This is on the border of Ashland and Price Cty's and I don't know where "Ashland" trails and "Price" trails begin and end.

Hopefully something get's done sooner rather than later!

Thanks to those who added their comments. Looks like I received the answer(s) that I need for the members in our group who wondered about this. Now if I can just figure out how to remove this post and thread, since it has served its purpose...
