Country Inn In Houghton in the UP

Has anyone stayed at the country in in Houghton? Is there good access to the trails? We have some points built up from a business trip that we could use to pay for a couple nights. Any info would help. We usually stay at the AmericInn in Calumet. Going to be there between the Holidays and cannot wait.

Have to cross M-26 in quite a busy area and deal with the Walmart traffic. I believe the the access trail does led up that way, at least to opposite side of M-26 from the hotel. Not as accessible as The Americann in Calumet, but can be done for a free room. Applebees is near by so there's a plus & Walmart has the cheapest gas in the area.

That's where I have stayed when in Houghton. The trail runs behind the Hotel and goes thru the Quarry, then another field area, along a road, then Pops out on M26 Where Dan's Rentals is..... Formerly Dan's Polaris.
The trail will not be Groomed from the Hotel to Dan's....I'd say its maybe 2 miles and I don't remember any markings thru the Quarry, but the Hotel puts up some markers in the other areas.... From Dan's to the main trail will be groomed as that's where they park the groomer.
I know a few people with kids don't like to stay there because the trail can become extremely bumpy and if it's snowing hard, hard to see the trail..

I stay as I get a good rate for staying there on Business.. Great place to stay.
I did not see it on the new map this year, but just called up there and the access trail is in place and they have snowmobilers this weekend.....
