coldbear, you are correct, the chip card processing at the till is much slower.
I have to say that the slow readers here are a pain.
I have dealt with chip cards for quite some time in Europe. They do process speed like our old strip cards over there.
We had a separate card when Europe started their conversion years ago. American cards required the cashiers to manually enter numbers at each transaction. Now, that is really slow.
