Da UP in da Summer

Before I came to live in the UP I never thought much what the summers may be like. Since I have moved here I honestly have come to enjoy the summer nearly as much as the winter. The atv trails are not nearly as extensive as the snowmobile trial but there is still plenty of riding to be had. We now pack lunches and just go ride, crossing creeks, sittin back on the beach of Lake superior. We're not allow to park or ride the beach but you can get right up to it and walk the rest. Same rules apply to sleddin, you need to avoid the private land. We like to ride the old logging roads and it really is a ball.

funny thing is, you can go around that river with the bridge just 200 ft from there, the water seemed funner,,,is funner a word?

Plus you don't have to worry about perfect snow conditions, you can ride rain or shine. I've always wanted to come up and rent an ATV and give it a try. No need to call ahead and ask for trail conditions and wonder if it will be too warm or if traffic will be too high etc!!

Mark, don't worry about having an atv, I have an extra one for you. Seriously, I better see you this summer, you and Steve, actually I have 3 atv's so we are all set. All 3 of mine are old but they are reliable and will get you out there to see what I am talking about. I just came in from a short ride. The old Honda took 4 kicks and has been sitting out all winter, runs like a top but rides like a lumber wagon. I'll give you guys the premium tour, big lake, river running, cook out, bluffs,,,oh yea,,,a few brews. Not one of us three are spring chickens so half the fun is just hangin out but none the less riding a machine is good, even if it's doesn't have a track. So seriously, lets pick a date and go for it!

Hey Lenny, I just want to say thanks for a great weekend last week. We are sure glad we came UP. Congrats to your son. We were hoping to see you guy at beer belly bobs place on sat.. Have a fun summer. Who knows we may come up to enjoy the summer time weather.

I couldn't agree more about the UP in the summer. I was up a few times last summer and came up for a week the one time. I bought an ATV this year and plan to ride so if you don't mind a tag along let me know.

I will try to take you up on that Lenny! Sounds like lots of fun. Yeah, we aren't spring chickens any more so we don't have to get stuck like our off trail riding this winter, although that was fun too! You gotta love Honda products, they are so reliable! Hope to see you this summer, and this time not for cutting wood! But if John needs us again, we will be there.

Andrew pretty much has me talked into a side by side so i should be good to go. Never quite "got" the whole atv thing........my son-in-law left a pair of them here the entire summer one year.......I think I maybe rode them twice......just like dog sledding, if you ain't the lead dog the view never changes........

Lenny I maybe up a couple times this summer with wife and the 4 year old daughter, so we may look you guys up for a trail ride if Dan leaves the ryno up for his bud to ride.

We love the UP anytime of the year. I need to relocate.

Haven't done a whole lot of atving there yet though. Looks like a blast! I wouldn't cross water like that though Lenny. That's crazy.
