Danbury area?

Started our day ride at the Fishbowl near Danbury at about 9:30am. 45 to 8E the Cabaaret in Webb Lake were still great even though they weren't yet groomed. Decided to head south (mistake!) for a meet at the Shop near Webster. Trail 22E deteriorated as we rode - road crossings and shoulders were mud or non existent. A sled in our group broke down so we towed it to the Crow Bar. The rest of us ran 22W to the Gandy - rode with jacket open and no gloves. Gandy was fine, 22 is a mess.

Crossing fingers for more snow in Burnett County, WI.

I was there a few weeks ago. 22 was rerouted SW of Oak Lake Rd near Sand Lake (there is an orange snow fence). It sucked then too. Must ride the edge of road.

Yeah, a property owner on Trail 22 cut us off so the trail is re-routed. Trail 22 gets groomed 2-3 times per week, but the biggest issue this time of the year is it's on the north side of the road and the sun just pounds it!

What was the property owners reason to close the trail on his property? I'm afraid to guess.

The trail ran very close to a property they were remodeling and their grandkids were going to be moving in and they didn’t wind them outside playing that close to a trail. They also have had sleds going up there driveway thinking it’s the trail and turning around in their yard at all hours

Thanks mspease! Are the NW Wis conditions going to be good with Johns forecast of snow, or has the fat lady started to sing? Nothing like putting you in between a rock and a hard spot, eh! Maybe drop in Rice Lake and head north?

I haven’t been on the trails for several days but the warm-up has taken a toll again. It will take at least 2 inches of snow to make trails decent again. My sleds won’t be moving until we get snow.

Closed our trails in the North Twin Cities Metro today and Rice Lake has had roughly the same snow depth all season. Gonna have to go to places which had loads of snow prior, where it was over a foot of base (North Shore, Bayfield, UP).
