Dancing Eagles Resort in Watersmeet

Has anyone stayed at Dancing Eagles Resort? Are they snowmobile friendly?

I'm thinking about trying to book a couple nights there for this weekend. I'm totally new to the western UP as all my riding has been in the Munising area.

We stay there all the time no issues. The food is better then what it was. Rooms are clean and warm so not a problem staying there.

We have stayed a few times. The price is right. Its a good area to stage out of. We didn't think the food was very good, but only ate there once. You will love the trails, if thats what your into. Grooming is a whole lot better than Munising!

Decent place in a great location. Can grab breakfast in the morning before heading out and parking is plentiful!

We're actually staying there this weekend, see ya there!

It sounded like they were pretty much booked but I just got a room for the weekend. I sure hope the snow comes!

We stayed there the first week of Dec. Make sure you take your stuff out of your saddlebags, etc at night.

Good food to be had at the bar/restaurant next to Nordines.

I would think one would always want to bring there stuff in at night especially staying at a big hotel. But the hotel, casino is pretty good they have a pool and hot tub and the casino usually has bands on the weekends. The restaurant in the casino can be hit or miss. Good thingis there are enough options around if you stay there.

We stay there quite often, nice place. Good starting point for riding, and entertainment at night with bands on the weekends. We always drive our sleds back in the trailer at night, don't take chances!

I quit Smoking years ago and avoid the Casino because it is thick with Smoke and it also seeps into the non Smoking Rooms.

Why even give your opinion if you avoid the place and probably have never been there because it's "thick with smoke"? I've stayed here many times including earlier this season and will be back this weekend. I also don't smoke and have never noticed the casino or the rooms "thick with smoke". It's a very nice place for the money with a gas station in the same parking lot, decent restaurant, bar in the casino and a good starting point for the trails in all directions. They do an exceptional job with grooming in this area at least from my past experiences.

Hello,
The casino is my number one place to stay in the Lower central U.P..
1. Cheap, rooms are generally less that $70 even on weekends. Try that in Eagle River, WI or Munising.
2. I like to play Blackjack at the same place I am staying. I ride 200+ miles a day and when I get off the machine, I am not getting back on til the next day.
3. Largest hot tub in the area, no waiting.
4. It is a great jump off point to backpack to Houghton. Ride to Houghton, stay at the Ramada and do a long ride the next day to Copper and than back to Watersmeet.

Negatives; it is smoky as you all say.

Let's ride if we ever get snow, Frank

Never had smoke seep into the room, but you notice it a LOT more now especially on your clothes.I think this has a lot to do with the smoking ban and not being used to smelling it after a night out.....

Thanks for the info, guys. I'm really looking forward to trying out these new (to me) sleds tomorrow.

I'm coming from the chicago area. Does anyone know the best/easiest place to get the MI trail stickers on the way to Watersmeet? Does the casino sell them? I don't want to have to waste time finding a vendor.

One time I had to wait 15 minutes for the hot tub. Boy was I mad! I complained to management and they gave me a free voucher for the buffet which at least made things a little better.
