If you want to stay in town (Deadwood) then I can't help. If wanting to stay at a cabin/ resort up on the hill, then below are my recommendations. Trailshead is good, but VERY, VERY busy. Depending on your group it may or may not be right for you. I suggest a lunch stop their if nothing else. Rec. Springs is under new ownership and they are great. If you hear anything bad about them, it was the previous owner, he was a major DB. Mt. Meadow is a bit off the beaten path. Haven't stayed personally, but hear they do a good job. Good luck, let me know if you have any other questions. Also - All the places listed below rent sleds if that's something you need.

yea dont stay in deadwood if ur there to ride not gamble..its a pain in the *** to get to the riding areas..only one trail and it always toast..stay at mt meadows,,nice cabins and in the main trail area..sounds like off trail is busting up sleds so be cautious..dont freak if there is no snow in deadwood..usually isnt..check the snow depth before u go..comes and goes out there..
