Dec 15&16 in UP

We are planning a new sled break-in trip to UP. Where is good clean places to stay north of Gogebic? Hotels or resorts . Food and drink close is bonus. I was thinking twin lakes area . With recent years trail conditions in the Gogebic area we want to start north of there, especially being early season and their lack of efforts it will be a mess.
