My father, two best friends and I will be just to the northwest of eagle river, WI - the entire week and always looking for other riders if any interest. We are renting a home in the area not doing the hotel thing but can/will meet up with anyone for a bit to eat or just go crusing around the wonderful countryside.
COME ON LET IT SNOW!!!!!

Christmas to New Year ride

Hopefully there will be sufficient snow by then. That week is usually my biggest trip of the year but been disappointed many
times with lack of snow. I typically would go to Ironwood MI or Eagle River. Last year I took my wife to Florida since the snow
was weak. This year looking at starting in Houghton but considering doing some cross country rides if the snow cover is good.
When it gets closer and snow starts to fall, I'll chech back with you. Are you staying somewhere around LAke Gogebic?

I know there was a melt down last year...hoping and praying this year will be different.
My group of four will be staying just north of eagle river...let me know we can try and hookup that week.

Where are you guys staying at what town?? We are staying in Conover/ Sayner area for the week, we have been up the same week for the last 6 -7 years and last year we were rained out 2 days before new years and went home early, the ride up to Boulder and Lando area is usually great, head up to Bents Camp for a drink and head back to Sayner area. We have a group of 10-12 going and always lookin for new riders!! We stay right by Stillwaters Bar, its nice and quiet and goood acces to many areas

We rented a house just northwest of Eagle River off trail 17 - I am very familiar with the Sayner area and love to ride up that way.....Hopefully the snow will come soon - we are going regardless as we have paid for the place - worst case we'll have to trailer up - a lot of things can change this time of year so I am still hopeful the weather will cooperate. If you want to meet up - let me know and if nothing else I can PM you a contact number and go from there.
Doing the snow dance helps this time of year :)
Cheers and safe riding and happy holidays

Soo bummed vacation planned, vacation home bought and paid for.....got no choice but to go. I feel worst case the sleds will sit and we'll just have to make due with our time and have fun best we can.
We can always dream of snow and hope for the best....worst start to a season I can ever remember.

Try ice fishing or drive to your fav bars. Also can slide down hills on Flexiable Flyer take you fav brews along Xcross counrty ski ....maybe on grass areas or ski down Flexiable Flyer hills. That's about it other than a nice outdoor bonfire. It really is nice outside not too cold.

They also have horse drawn sleigh rides up north on 45 by the go cart track. We did that a few years ago when the snow sucked. We brought a cooler full of beer. The kids had fun. They stop in the middle of the woods and have a campfire and do smores and have adult beverages. I think the entire ride is about 2 hours. They book up early when the snow is lacking so make reservations. If you have a big enough group, you can probably get a sleigh all to yourselves.
