Dehumidifier

Since you guys help out with my computer problem, I thought I would run this by ya.

3 year old Heier dehumidifier that worked fine when I put it away last year does not "produce" any water in the bucket. I can hear the compressor kick on and the fan blows, but no water.

I am assuming this thing workss similiar to an A/C unit so could it be out of freon. Is there any way to check and or refill.

look on the second page I started the same topic...........

I had the same exact problem...........if you find some one that will work on them it is expensive. After talking to a neighbor that is a heating air conditioning guy the assumption is that my unit lost to much of the freon so it will no longer work properly. In order to find the leak you have to recharge the unit and add a die then run it and find out where the leak is (if you can see the leak). My neighbor said not a hard job but time consuming that is why most people do not work on them (as the consumer usally does not want to pay for the amount of labor it takes to find the leak).

but you are correct it is basically a small air conditioner.
