They are spawning already actually last week seems everything is too early.

Are you sure they're spawning? It should be prespawn. They don't spawn here until May. I can't imagine it's 2 months early. I know it's early but wow. When do they usually spawn?

I don't even think it's prespawn here.

Early, but not necessarily 2 months

I think spawning is more dependent on water temp. than time of year (day, week or month). I'm no expert and not EXACTLY sure on this but I believe Northern Pike are the first to spawn (water temp. about 35-45 deg. F.), then Walleye (40-45), followed by perch (45-55), Crappies (60-65) and finally the 'Gills (60+).

These are just the species I like to fish... I'm not really into bass or trout fishing so I can't speak to that, although I would like to get into trout fishing a little more.

Right now down here I think the pike are probably about done and the walleyes are just starting (at least where I fish). I'm thinking this might be the weekend to be up at camp trying for pike.

Strange thing is, the river I like to fish up by camp is very fickle... some years the walleye are done by opening weekend and already out in the lake... other years they haven't even been up-river yet... very seldom are they there on opening day.
