Differences?

John, I know yours is the only forcast we should look to, but ocasionally I do wander to other meterologists. (sorry, I know, I feel dirty) It seems like sometimes you can watch 3 different stations and get 3 different forcasts. Are there that many models for you guys, or just different opinions on the same data. Thanks for the great site!

There are a number of different models that someone could use to make a forecast for the Midwest (I know of at least a dozen). Plus, meteorologists all know that the models are not pefect and so we are not going to use the data verbatium. Combine those two factors and you come up with unlimited potential for different forecasts.

With that said, most in the media are going to closely follow what the local NWS office is saying.
