does teflon tape work with gas?

The regular Teflon tape doesn't but they make some that is yellow in color and I'm sure that is for all kinds of gas & chemicals. Check label to be sure.

thanks I just picked up a dirt bike that somebody put to long of a bolt to hold the radiator shroud to the gas tank and cause it to leak.

Do not use Teflon tape or Teflon paste for any kind of fuel! There are a lot of products made just for fuel. Blue Monster, Hercules ,and Gasollia all make chemical specified dope and tape. Lock Tight,is also getting into the game. Your local auto parts store should have something.
