First off I see a movie about once every 18 to 24 months whether it's on TV, a rental or the theater. Not uncommon for me to go 3 years without going to a theater. Still, every once in a while my wife will still ask if I want to go to a movie. This past Saturday I found myself home a day early from Lenny's spring get together and after we got some things done around the house that needed to be taken care of she asked the question. Since the day was going as unplanned as ever I figured if we could find something that looked interesting I'd go.
We went to Draft Day. This was a great film. Granted it was exactly the type of movie I like, but it kept my attention the entire time. I enjoy films or books that are based on actual events, contain real people doing what the actually do, have real drama and suspense (not made up "who's behind the door" stuff), and involve some type of negotiation or business sense that gives you a feeling of winning or losing. I also like feel good stories about people who do the right thing and have the respect of others because of what they do.
Not to give anything away, but this film as all of that and is done very well in my mind. Even my wife say it was good, and had enough chick elements that it kept her interest and she was happy she saw it.
So if you're looking for something to go see in the near future check it out, hopefully you'll enjoy it as much as I did.
