You where close but not quite right. You that you water at the wrong temp. Once you get the clutch puller out (have fun!) Try this it should pop right off.

One of the best and fastest ways I have used it the "Water Removal Technique". I picked up the idea from DOO Talk two years ago and it worked perfectly.

I took my clutch off with the this way and worked perfectly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1. Tip sled on side
2. Remove clutch bolt
3. Pour coolant (if outside), water (if inside). (Just liquid)
4. Wrap Teflon tape on clutch bolt threads, making sure wound the right way so it doesn't push off.
5. Re install clutch bolt, turn with wrench until you can feel pressure. You shouldn't even need enough pressure to use a clutch holding tool,
you can use your other hand just to hold it. (I was able to hold it by hand and it only took 2 or 3 full turns)

Enjoy!

This was also add if the clutch was really stuck to try this: (I did not need to try this so I can not verify it)
If clutch does not pop off after 4 -6 turns of the bolt let sit in below freezing temps and when water freezes it will pop clutch off.

If you have 1/2 of the puller stuck in the clutch it is a good chance it broke becuase of gauled threads. If you can't drill and EZ out the puller from the clutch you will have to cut the clutch off. I have clamped a large slidehammer on a clutch before but wouldn't advise it because it sure seemed to put a lot of load on the end of the crank on impact.

If your clutch has been off before, you should be able to just remove the sliding shive with the broken puller still threaded in (try tapping shive with rubber mallet or wood). Once off, you may have access to the broken puller shaft, and if you can hold the stationary half with a strap or piece of wood you may be able to spin the broken puller out with vise grips. If not, drill puller shaft and use an EZ out as mentioned above. Good luck.

That happened to me too called dealer what i did was to take a punch and keep hitting the end of the bolt it will break loose and then you can just unthread your bolt.
