Netflix doesn't get them until the next season or close to it, To ramp up the excitement.
At least on the shows I want to see.

I have a brother in law who dumped cable and went with local, Netflix and Hulu. After spending a weekend there, bad plan if you watch a lot of TV.
Sports was the biggest thing missing. We still found a lot to watch but, very limited. Emergency One was the best, if that answers your question.

We ditched cable at the beginning of the summer. We already had Amazon prime for other reasons, but decided to sign up for hulu+ and netflix and see what we use. I think we use amazon prime the most, although once TV shows start for the year, I think Hulu+ will be used more. We won't keep all three.

We haven't missed cable all that much. Not getting the Big Ten network is the part I don't like, but it's not worth spending the cash that cable goes for these days. We have 3 very young children so there isn't much time for watching TV anyway.

We might also look into simple.tv - it's a DVR you can buy that works with the live TV you get on the antenna.

I do not like hulu personally and netflix keeps losing shows...sports would be the tough thing to give up.Also giving up Wake up with Stephanie would be hard to do.

We dumped cable a couple yrs ago...don't miss it a bit. Once in a blue moon I miss seeing a Badger game, but it's not worth it. I can go up the street and sit at the bar for a couple hrs, and still come out ahead money-wise. We have Netflix, and I rarely use it, but the Mrs can find pretty much anything she wants to watch.
