Finish of have World Championship was great, but why did they have to mess with something that was great. Having to run 25 laps on a champ sled was a true test of man and machine. This year they ran 15 laps had a 5 min. pit stop where they could change studs and carbides, and add fluids but make suspension or engine changes. Uneventful! Gary Moyle lost a 2/3 of a straight away lead. Although I think Jacques Villneuve liked the new format. As he got to take a break and rast before continuing his amazing run from starting in the back row coming from the LCQ to finish 3rd! Congrats Jacques it was amazing to watch. Also congrats to P.J. on becoming the first 4 time world champion. Also one of the odd things for the first time in I don't know how long there was no Wahl in the World Championship. I guess the times they are a changin.

We were at the Derby but I'm afraid I can't offer congrats to Jacques. Instead I say, SHAME ON HIM! On the second line up, lines were marked for the sleds and Jacque slid way up over his orange painted line almost to Dan Fenhaus who had respectfully stayed well behind his line. It would seem to be cheating when you don't adhere to where you are asked to start. Jacque is a pro, he knows better. I know it's a very aggressive race but gee we weren't the only ones who noticed his indiscretion. And, we felt let down by the new format....
I agree that the 25 lap races were a challenge and a test of the driver and sleds endurance.
