Eagle River Ice Castle?

Why no ice castle this year? I just assumed because the lake ice wasn't thick enough to cut the ice they needed.

Yes to warm and not enough ice, so no castle this year

They like to have the castle built by Derby Week & could not get the equipment on the ice due to warm temps. When it is does get warm in extended thaws the fire depart will knock down the castle anyway so just was not meant to be this year. Bad season.......
