Eagle River to Lake of the clouds

Looking at doing a 3 day weekend (Friday -Sunday) this upcoming weekend riding from Eagle River to Bergland stay overnight and then to the Lake of the Clouds with my wife. We have a cabin in Eagle River and do a lot of riding in the area but have never went to the UP so we are experienced riders. Figured we would ride Friday to Bergland stay overnight then ride Saturday to the Lake and back down to Bergland for Saturday night and head back to ER Sunday. Questions are: I'm figuring about 6 to 8 hours at a decent pace to get to Bergland, does that sound about right? Also concerned about trail conditions in the UP, we know conditions change but I am a bit concerned about riding big whoops with the Mrs getting pissed at me for taking this venture. Is this a valid concern or not. Also places to stay and eat in Bergland and is it possible to get a place to stay this late in the game? Honest opinions appreciated. Thanks

Very doable in one day. No need to over nite. Would recommend doing this trip midweek as the weekend traffic will be brutal with big bumps by afternoon. Or you could overnite at the motel in Silver City, been a while since I've been there but the restaurant was pretty decent. The old Pauls Snow Shoe? If I remember right.

You could do this trip in (1) day no problem. I think ER to Bergland could be done in 2-3 hours. Lake In The Clouds from Bergland and back 4-6 hours depending on stops. There is the Americinn and a restaurant/bar called Porkies in Silver City

Plenty of places to stay in/around Bergland. Root Cellar, Walleye Lodge, Timbers.....

Agree this is a 1 day RT for me from Phelps. I do move at a good clip but nothing crazy. Making it a 2 day RT for Ma staying at White Pine or Silver City is plenty of time of very slow riding. Only trails that could be moguled would be Bergland & SC trails. Take 3n to 2e to 3n 8w to 1n then reverse so you know conditions for Ma. Best conditions are weekdays.

Appreciate the info but with the predicted warm up I decided to stay in Wisconsin closer to the cabin.

Start as early as you can and hang it up before dinner time and you will probably have decent trails. The later in the day the more beat up. Stayed at the Ameracinn in silver city last week. Pool, hot tub, sauna and bar/restaurant. Very nice. Be sure to stop and show her the bat cave on the way up to LOC.
