Easier way to take-off/put-in exhaust springs???

I changed out the track this weekend, and getting all the exhaust springs back on was probably the biggest PIA about the whole thing. Any easy tips for this? Tools that make it easy? Doesn't seem like it should be that hard of a job. This is a Polaris 600 Fusion - the 2 inside ones on the can were the hardest ones.

They make a couple different tool for the job look in a Dennis Kirk book or something like that. Long t handle with small hook on the end also one has a small v on the end to push on the spring

The to I have are similar the two in Dennis Kirk but the one has a hook for pulling and also a v for pushing but that one is a little bigger so look around and you may want to get a couple different types.

I have an old long flat blade screwdriver that I just ground a notch in and works great. Been using it for years and never had it slip.

I use another long spring like what is on the silencer or sometimes around the pipe to hold it down. Double it over and hook both ends on the ends of the spring you want to remove and pull. You'll be surprised how little you have to pull to get them off and it won't slip. Much easier than the tools in my opinion.

I use a 2 or 3 foot piece of speaker wire. I have a couple of spring tools, but I find this chunk of wire works the best. Sometimes a spring tool can't get to where you need it to. You can make a piece of wire as long as you need it so your hands are out of danger, and you can pull on it easily. I learned this trick from a guy that used a shoestring. I couldn't believe how well it worked.

There are many great ideas here but most of all were safety glasses or better yet glasses with a face shield. That spring can come right back at you. Good luck!
