electric shield

I have an 02 edge 600. Where do I tap into for power? I noticed on the CDI box??(black box on oil tank) that there is a yellow wire with a red stripe that has a butt connector on it. Would this be a power wire?? Thanks!!

Yellow is power and Brown is ground

So it should be wired like this
Red --> Yellow
Black--> Brown

If you put black to black it will kill the engine when you plug the helmet in.

So can I use the this yellow wire with red stripe that is hangin there with a butt connector on it? I just don't wanna hack up a bunch of wires. Thanks!!

Or, you could do it where its supposed to be tied into...... by the voltage regulator. Its down behind the secondary by your left footwell.

Usually the helmet cords have eyelets on the ends, if you do, attach them directly to the tach. Attaching to the tach will eliminate any splices. The yellow wire runs all the electrical stuff, including the tach.

The tach should have screws holding the yellow and brown wires to the back of it. Unscrew and screw your helmet wires directly to the tach. The eyelet hole on your helmet wire will probably be too big so put your helmet wire under the original wires to the tach and put the screws back in.

Red helmet wire to the yellow tach wire and black helmet wire to the brown tach wire.
