Electric Trailer Brake repair / replacement?

It seems every year the electric brakes on my trailer rust up or just don't work as good as they should. Has anyone gone to the galvanized assembly or a disc brake set up? Thanks.

I have the same question question, but where did you find a source for galvanized electric brake components, all that I can find are for surge brakes?

I get my parts each year from Northern Equipment. They brakes rust in the box as they ship them via china. Getting real old. I was told park the trailer on concrete not in the yard. Guess more moisture in dirt?????

The shop I use told me to rinse them out at the end of the season to get the salt out. I've heard things similar to what PR said about the grass versus concrete with moisture too. A friend of mine has been using foam board under his '97 truck since almost new in which the underside looks like the vehicle is only 5 years old! An old trick he had been told!?

The grass gives off a gas that is more prone to cause rust... I had bought a car for my kids 1X that was parked in someones yard for a few years... what a mistake.

I park mine on concrete as well as spray them off after each sledding trip. They still give me fits. No how matter you slice it they need serviced every season..............

Your correct, I cant find galvanized in electric. Only in hydraulic. I assumed they would be available in both. I usually do my shopping at etrailer.
