Wanted to give you all riders a update on trail #13 behind our shop. I'm sure all of you know the big problem with that trail in the early season is the very large body of water. Well our club has hired a seasoned dozer operator to deal with this situation and the water is totally gone! Amen! This has been a problem since we've started this trail and it's been a real bummer because it's one of the best trails around. Just figured I'd give you all a bit of good news for those of you who like to ride that trail. This trail is owned by a Land management company and they've been very gracious to give us not only easements but also from time to time will share costs of repairing the trail and or roads, so please respect the property this winter that you ride on and remember to stay on the trail especially in farming country. If you see someone doing something they shouldn't this season please let them know what they're risking. Sorry to get off topic a bit but my hands are typing what my brain is thinking! LOL!! There are plenty of good areas to ride off trail just please do it in those areas! Thanks!!

That is great news. That beaver pond by the Kangas farm was pretty deep, and the one after that was deeper! My thoughts as were going through it, in my 2017 Yamaha Viking purchased at Pat's Motorsports best dealer in the u.p., was "this is going to bad news come winter!" Awesome news!

Here is whats left of one of the beaver dams. This is not the snowmobile trail itself, but this dam was causing the problems on the trail, this was a huge beaver pond in over all length. As we were looking at the remains of the dam, where they had ripped it apart, the pesky beavers were already starting to dam it again. Lol 20170901_165819.jpg

That's awesome! Hope to check it out this year.

Noticed you guys were mentioned in a snowtech article this year about a sidewinder build. Looked like a cool sled.

That's great to hear that your club is so pro-active with problems like this Kip. That trail is probably one of my all time favorite stretches of trail that I've ever had the pleasure to ride.

Would you mind posting how we can join the club to support the efforts? We do most of our riding in your area and want to support all of the hard work.

Hoosier.....That was actually my SideWinder build in SnowTech. I just wanted to make sure that I gave Kip and his whole crew a shout out in the article for all that they do to keep us sled heads up and running during the sleddin' season.

Cool - I enjoyed your write-up. Sounds like you had a lot of fun putting that sled together.

That's great news Kip! That trail has always been one of my favorites, this will make a huge improvement, especially early in the season.

Well done everyone!! That trail has been missed as it is a great loop from Krupps to Pats instead of the grade...
