Exhaust Coating-several questions

For those with experience with having the snowmobile exhaust systems ceramic-coated, is it worth the cost, does it hold up well? What should one expect to pay to have a complete system coated?

Does it have any positive or negative effect on performance (carbed sleds), as I see some coaters stating performance gains?

Any recommendations on who to go to to have it done, preferably in the northeast WI area?

My dad got his new IQ stock pipe coated and it looks sweet and its the most durable finish you can apply to exaust it does increase performace also. A lot of late models "stock cars" do it to there exaust so it must be improving performance. They say its suppose to keep heet in your pipe like wrapping it or insulating it.

I have done ceramic coating on several sleds, more for looks, but it does add somewhat of a thermal barrier. The chrome looking ceramic coatings are really more for looks, swain tech offers a true ceramic coating that is a much better thermal barrier. I have had www.lo-ko.com has done all of my exhaust systems.

Note: Pipes can still rust even with this coating installed
