Extended Warranty

The factory warranty is just about up for my 08 Nytro...and Yamaha is offering me three full coverage warranty extension options ranging from $700 to $900. Question to all is – is it worth the money for an extended warranty?

If you dont work on your own stuff much and have a good dealer for service. Then yes.

No mileage restrictions...1st warr is a year...

I do work on my sleds...however, this sled is quite advanced for my knowledge at this point.

$700 to $900 steep could of had 4 years YES @$500 when you purchased. Nytro tough call. How are donuts on Nytro holding up? How long will you keep how many miles now? Engine should be fine.

Had the steering bushings replaced under warr...are you talking about exhaust donuts?

Has 280 miles now…

Only 280 total miles!!?? You are not broken in yet. You don't ride enough to have warranty forget it & save you money or spend it on trips & ride more lol

You don't have worries until you start pushing 5000 miles for donuts.

whitedust...you are right, I have to ride this sled more! I only purchased it this past Jan...only got to ride it on two short trips after the purchase.

That will all change this season!

I purchased the extended warranty for my 2010 xtx, paid $899 for it. I have always done all my own mechanical work(cars,trucks,jeeps,boats,sleds etc.. The way i figured it, one failed ecu,starter or track and it's paid for. Two failures and I'm money ahead. Alot can happen in four years and a four stroke should last all of that and still be going strong. I have read that it may go through a few sets of limiter straps and at $109 a set that could add up fast. pray for SNOW!! nytro out.
