Currently NWS has issued this warning for MN and ND for dangerous wind chills and temps.

I dont recall this warning term ever being used. Wind chill warnings yes, but not - - wait I just found that NWS chill warnings/advisories are now replaced with Extreme Cold Warning term starting 2011 -2012 season

I like the way they said this:
"Communities along the south shore of Lake Superior can expect a few inches of Lake Effect snow and mild temperatures around zero. " Yep, that's what we have, MILD temps of around zero. Great day to head to the beach! :)

I guess everything is relative.

Zero is better than 30 below :) its all relative.

Edit: But its a really nice day to keep the wood stove hot and relax.

I'd be happy with zero temps. We had -19 with -37 windchills this morning. And still no snow!

I was thinking of posting this yesterday as it is our first cold weather warning this year. I remember them talking about the change last year but with the mild winter this was our first one. They said on the weather last night that it will be issued when the actual temp or the wind chill temp is below -30. The wind chill warnings that it replaced would only be issued when the wind chill temp was -30 and the wind was blowing at a certain speed, not just the low temp. The TV's were beeping and the warning was crawling on the bottom of the TV all day yesterday. I guess we are not smart enough to tell that it is cold outside on our own anymore. I might have to get my winter coat out of the closet and stop wearing my Sperry boat shoes soon.

You know what they say... Location, Location, Location. Come on over to da udder side of the big pond. A balmy -1 and been snowing to beat the band all morning and looks to keep up through next 38-40 hours.

exactly, it is like -15 to120 out there now and 75 in the house and the stove is cooking, close to a 100 degrees difference.

Zero is better than 30 below :) its all relative.

Edit: But its a really nice day to keep the wood stove hot and relax.

Thanks for posting chords. I saw that last night and thought the same thing - never seen that before even with colder temps.
