Fall car cruise

So yesterday the wife and I decided to go on a cruise to raise money for veterans. I have been working on this car for a few years doing the motor (400 small block) transmission and rear end and then had a friend of mine do the paint job. It is a 1975 Chevy Monte Carlo and it was/is my first car. To finally have it close to done and be able to cruise is great. Was watching the local news last night and guess what?? My Monte is featured not once but twice. Ya it was only for a few seconds but still!! Check it out. I come through that cut behind the VW then towards the end she's front and center with a 442 in the backround. Take a minute a watch!!

Very nice & a job well done on the restoration. The tires look like they need to be smoked though! LOL! -Mezz

Nice car! I had a '77 Monte for my first car. Had the swivel buckets with the floor shift. 305 2 bbl. Wasn't very fast but an awesome highway cruiser. Thanks for sharing. What did you do to the 400?

The biggest thing was putting the Vortec heads on it. Did a little port work to help the flow as well. Engine builder said that was a 75hp bolt on! Kinda middle of the road cam shaft edelbrock performer intake and a 650 holley double pumper. Very well mannered motor. Starts and runs like shes fuel injected!! Put a posi rear end w/3.53 gears in it which means I can give my passengers whip lash if I so choose :) Sure brings back memories of the good ole days... Told my wife if this car could talk I would still be in jail!! lol

you mean like this mezz?? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7YeN7g_RSI&feature=youtu.be

I don't know who is driving that car but.... lol. She only got half of it on video. Left some rubber there... Gotta love POSI!!! Turn up the volume on this one!!

Now that earns an ATABOY!!!! That video brought back memories of my first & last (to date) project car, '66 Pontiac LeMans. 400 w/ 400 Turbo trans which came out of a 69 Catalina. When someone said light'em up, I had to be a smartazz & ask them how far?!? Like yours, it would keep smoking till you said stop or the tires would pop! Love it!-Mezz

Sounds like a good combination with quality parts! Congrats on getting it back on the road.
