Fall Colors?

Anything changing over yet in the Keweenaw? I was up there over Labor day weekend and there was some color popping out.

Nothing exciting yet in Vilas County saying 2-3 weeks from peak here but UPMI always on earlier schedule.

Drove to town of Phelps mid week & just green fading to light green a little yellow. Suppose to be a cold soggy week coming up not much sun until weekend so thinking that should bring on the yellows. We had a warm wet summer until August & Sept so trees had a good year. Getting the feeling colors will be late then big leaf dump all at once. You should be able to see color next weekend but not peak for awhile yet.

Thanks. We postponed the trip an extra week because it sounded like it would be a late season, we'll see. I really need to get away for a few days.

Cold wet pattern should be over by then too & color will be very good...long range for next weekend still wet but who knows this far out? More color change each day now getting dark early solar angles go down fast in afternoon with temps so bring a jacket.

Thanks again. I'll keep an eye on the weather. If its gonna be wet and cold we'll leave the toys at home and just take the car.
