Fallen Firefighters

Its a very sad day. Two Chicago Firefighters lost their lives today and many injured when a roof collapsed, trapping them. They were fighting a fire at an abandon building. Very hard to see brothers die in the line of duty. Both had a wife and kids. May both their famlies be strong thru these tough times.

Prayers and condolences go out to their families, both at home and at the station house. It's always tough to hear about fellow firefighters answering the final alarm. God speed brothers.

Really hard to see this. Especially for an abandoned building. My thoughts and prayers go out to the families.

My prayers go out to their families. Firemen are real heros.

I was a volunteer fireman for 13 years, it really never totally gets out of your blood. They perform dangerous work, without looking back.

Man this really stinks, this time of year especially. Hats off to my fellow FF'ers. We all know of the risks of the job, whether we're volunteers or career Firefighters. We do it because we love to. They did not die in vain!!! They died as someone's hero.

What a terrible tragedy. My thoughts are with the families of the fallen heros.

These stories hit a bit too close to home, 13 members of my family are all on one fire dept. It makes you cherish the fact that they return safely from even the simplest calls. I greatly admire all the you firefighters sacrifice to keep others safe.

Very sad news, my prayers go out to the families of these firefighters and to CFD. When you spend a third of your life living, eating, sleeping and answering calls together, the building becomes your second home and the people inside it like family. God bless them all.
