Oh boy, here we go......LOL...Maybe this will help us forget the fact that it's gonna be in the 90's all week. UGH

Do they predict anything about gas prices for the winter? Of course that is probably easier than predicting the weather.

No super cold temps please, that just freezes up da big lake and limits the LES. I will take a winter just like last year, but have the snow start in late Nov instead of January. :)

One of the many reasons I enjoy living in the upper midwest, four distinct seasons. In the 90's today and snow & cold 6 months from now.

X2 Gary!! My sentiments exactly. I lived in N.C. for 7 yrs and it was either hot and humid, or warm and humid. Winter there sucked!! The story about the almanac was on the national news today too. Must be a lot of believers. I didn't realize the almanac had such a high success ratio. 80% right...we'll see.

80%. Wow, the pretty girl on the TV news misses by 80% of the time, every night, but she gets 80% male viewers consistently. go figure???

Is that the 80/20 rule? Girl gets forecast right 20% of the time, good enough for 80% of male viewers?

I think so??!?? The TV stations are selling the sizzle but not delivering the steak...Heck I watch her then check weather on anyone of the 15 weather apps and 6 radar screens on my "smart" phone then do an average of all including the pretty weather teleprompter reader gal. Heck I heard they call it weather modeling? (standing in front of the green screen). I miss the days of forecasts that ment something. back in the 60's ole channel 13 had a weather wheel they spun and it whooped the pretty gals forecast daily. (Well anyways she had on a nice red dress tonight and said it will get hotter) Last night she said rain all day today and had on a pretty blue dress. We had no rain today. I suspect they are using subliminal advertising on us guys to. note the dress colors.

I wonder if the author of the article (or anyone, for that matter) has examined the claim of 80% accuracy?

What I thought was interesting is that they supposedly rely heavily on sun activity and sunspots for their forecast, and have since the 1800's. Even some of the climate change cheerleaders are starting to think the sun may have something to do with the climate...
