would like to make everyone aware that the slush is dangerously deep on the trail going across Fence Lake. Northern Hornshoe Club is aware of this but we all thought spreading the word would be a good idea.
UPDATE AS OF 1-17-22 @ 5:00PM - FENCE LAKE TRAIL IS CLOSED!!

I rode over Fence Multiple times this weekend. I had a little slush by the old Fence Lake Lodge where the trail comes off the Lake......but not "dangerously deep" at all. You simply felt the sled go through it. My experience has been if it is slushy, it is where the trail comes through by Lake Placid Inn.......I came through there on Sunday evening and experienced no slush at all.........I'm not saying there isn't a spot, however, where is the bad area?

i have only been on that lake a couple times in the summer
so i have no idea where the problem area is
i am pretty sure that lake is very deep in spots 90plus feet
slush usually forms when heavy snow pushes the ice down and water comes up through cracks
not sure if that is the case here
a friend of mine that lives on the res emailed me the notice
so i thought i would share
stay safe out there
going to be a cold week ahead
