IF Yamaha offers EPS on the 2012 Vector, I might be a buyer. What are you guys seeing for MPG's on your FI Vector's, and how would you describe your riding style?

Thanks!

2010 vecter ltx gt. I have been getting around 18mpg. Riding style I would describe as smooth and consistant sometimes very aggressive. Went from around 10-12 on my former 2005 Polaris xc sp 600 with M-10. I sit and watch as the rest of the 2 stroke friends fuel up.

Sounds exactly like my riding style. The LTX is a long track right?

ltx is the long track,136. First one I have ever bought. After alot of research it was highly recommended over the 121. With all the torque of this machine I could not see owning the 121. You can almost idle this thing up into the trailer. With the mono 2 suspension and 136 this thing rides smooth if u set it up for yourself. No studs.

My riding buddy has one he gets 17 mpg. It will get better as it breaks in. My 06 venture with 12000 mi. got 18.2 my engine is fully broke in. I do not thing these new FI engines are broke in till 3000 miles

We have a 2007 Rage (136") and 2008 Vector (121"). These both have the earlier version of the 3cyl engine with carbs. Both get about 17 in spirited riding and 19+ riding more cruiser-style. I would expect the FI motor will get 20-21 in 'calm' riding and will be down around 18 when you're hard on it. Doesn't matter with the fuel delivery system is, more HP means more fuel. Still, getting 17-18 when riding hard is great no matter what the vehicle type.

It took about 1000 miles for each of them to break-in. 500 easy miles followed by progressively faster riding....MPG's continued to improve to about the 1000 mile mark.

Even with the 136" track the mid-range torque will use all available traction.....
