Finally Easy to Open the Trailier!

I finally got sick of trying to lift the top of my two place Triton especially after the handle broke. After having a few brain cells run into each other I came up with an idea. All the parts used to do this I purchased at Home Depot including the pre-made velcro straps with hooks on them. Below are a couple pictures. It is absolutely effortless to lift and lower the top now. When travelling you simply unhook the straps and put them in the trailer or the truck.

Nice job Rev! "Having a few brain cell run into each other", LOL! I thought I was the only one that happened too! Congrats. Nicely done! Merry Christmas!

What are the straps for? Wouldn't a handle have worked? My buddy has the same trailer and it has a handle in the back, no problems opening his.

Same here, I have the same trailer and the handle works just fine. Maybe a strap to close it due the reach would be helpfull otherwise mine works just fine.

Question of ease and saving your back

I had the handle as well and it worked fine under ideal conditions. If you have the slightest bit of snow on the trailer the added weight made it bear. Also, if the rubber seal was frozen even the slightest (even with silicon on it) it was impossible to open. Having to grab that handle bent over was a back problem weighting to happen. Now I can stand up straight and get a lot more leverage to open and close. Not that the handle does not work (at least until mine broke), this is just a much better set-up and saves on the muscles and back.

Leave the handle on in the back and attach one strap on the inside so you can just flip it out of the way when you close it. Don't have to lose it or worry that you took it off. I put them on our Sledbeds and love em.
