Looks like the first snows of the season will fall (and perhaps even whiten the ground in spots) across the upper Midwest this weekend.

Some of the exact details still need to be worked out, but some flakes are likely in areas as far south as southern MN and central WI and could even make it as far south as IA and northern sections of IL/IN by late in the weekend.

Some minor accumulations are possible in the Northwoods and the potential is there for some pockets of heavier LES.

Oh crap, now I have to double time it on the lawn furniture & the gazebo. Been enjoying the balmy fall & working on other things outside. Oh well, not the first time for last minute preparations.-Mezz

John, when you say Northwoods..is that including Hayward,WI?

Yep. My definition of the Northwoods would be areas north of a line from around Brainerd MN to Rhinelander WI to Houghton Lake MI, or there abouts. I realize others have different opinions and I am perfectly comfortable with that. That is just what I use as my definition.

You guys are goofy, give us farmers another month atleast!!:p

I was just talking with one of the riding gang. He has about 1,500 acres left to combine and this last round of rain put him a couple of days from getting back into the field. I might be running a combine for the first trip of the season if this stuff keeps going. The late spring is a factor.

John, how soon do you think we will get sticking snow this year?
