Went for a ride today with my son and left Spread Eagle on 2 west to 113 north to Crystal Falls. From Crystal Falls we took 111 north to the 111/15 Junction. Then 15 south down to trail 2 then headed east through Iron River back home.
Last night we received 2" of good wet snow which created a little push in the corners but we both thought the 2" of fresh was perfect. Light snow throughout the day temps were perfect (although the wind picked up and temps were dropping). While there were still some thin spots in the woods overall the trails were great. Trail 2 around IR was a little thin since I could hear the gravel but the new snow somewhat covered that up, but no big deal. Passed one groomer in IR and even took a break with the Michigan DNR at the 111/15 junction. They were out riding on patrol. I've never seen that before.
Beautiful conditions and another great day with my son.
