Florence Iron River

I did not ride but believe it or not I did see a few riders. I was at the chuck wagon Saturday and there were two people who stopped for lunch. I did not speak to them but overheard them say it was very thin. I personally drove my truck over to the trail (#2) along the highway to see for myself and it still had the slushy base that starts out the day as hard ice but softens up as temps warm. Roads are all bare now. No snow left on them. I personally don’t like to Ride in mud nor ride on bare pavement any more than a road crossing. So I’m done. My guess is in the woods there is still riding for the die hards but whenever the trail runs down the road you are going to get mud or brown sandy water. I get others will hop from snow patch to snow patch, not judging anyone but that’s just not for me.

We took the NST as far north as Sach's Reanevous on Sat.
Plenty of snow. Any thin road cover is gone so plan accordingly.

We left Florence to Crystal Falls to Iron River to Sidnaw to Baraga, all trails were nearly perfect with few bumps and PLENTY of snow even through town in Baraga was well above expectations! Headed to Copper Harbor tomorrow!

Was not brutal at all! Took the canal to Hancock

Left Baraga went through Alston to twin Lakes to Hancock to Copper Harbor back down through Mass to Bruce’s Crossing to Sidnaw back to Baraga, 342 miles was absolutely beautiful with very few bad spots and nothing bad for a very long stretches .1 more day and done for the year, need 114 miles for 5000 for the year .

Just got home, left Baraga went to Bruce’s Crossing to Watersmeet to River to Florence, everything was nearly perfect especially the grade from Watersmeet to Florence, a little bit brutal south of Bruce’s Crossing for a mile, and around Bruce’s Crossing is getting thin but everything else was beautiful .
