Some wounded veterans from all across the country made their way to Lake County to learn how to fly fish.
For them, casting a line means a lot more than catching fish, it's a way to help them heal from what they've been through. Servicemen traveled to Baldwin for a weekend of fishing therapy along the Pere Marquette River. Throughout the weekend veterans will learn how to cast a fly rod and how to fish.
The veterans say they use this time to help each other work through their recovery. The veterans will continue their fly fishing knowledge through Sunday.
9&10's Cali O'Rourke and photojournalist Evan Dean went out and discovered the emotional benefits the sport has.
Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing makes these trips possible for the wounded veterans. For more information on the organization, click the link below!
