I'm suppose to be on a 6:00 a.m. plane Friday morning, outta Minneapolis. John's forecast leads me to believe we may be delayed? Any thoughts?

That is a good airport to be in if you are dealing with snow, but where are you headed?

MSP does need to do the deicing when they have the correct conditions, but their runway crew is stellar.

I live in MN and like said above MSP does a good job on keeping the birds coming and going. If the weather does look to get bad chances are the airline will issue a weather waver, you can then jump on a earlier flight or take a later one at no additional cost to you (airline fees only). Just a heads up not much open in the airport that time of the morning (I just flew out last Friday about the same time). so grab a bite to eat before you get there.

Thanks Scott! Yes, we usually fly out around that 6:00 a.m. time, but we do the "park and fly" from a hotel. We typically take the 4:00 a.m. shuttle and hustle through the check-in & security, find out gate, and then wait till the little shops open to grab a bit and a paper. I hope they get us out in time! I'm not familar with the "weather waiver"?? Do I check the carrier website? If anything it appears as though we'd be delayed on Friday?? Please elaborate if you have a minute. Thanks!

I have only ever had to "participate" in one weather waiver (I got on a earlier flight out of MN) like I mentioned above they usually give you the option to jump on a earlier flight or reboke a latter flight for no additional charge. The particular time it affected me I received an email from the air line a day or so in advance letting me know my options. At this point in time (we all know it can change) it sounds like the possible storm is supposed to come Thursday night into Friday morning, so it might affect you. I would start checking the airlines website Wed. night (if the storm still stays on track) and/or call your airline and ask them. If we are only supposed to get 4"-6" i would personally guess your flight might just be delayed. It's fun watching those big *** plows and sweepers do their job. You leaving for work our personal?

Heading to Mexico for a week and would really like to get that bird up at 6:00 a.m. It's only a 4 hour flight and we'd have the whole day. However, if it's not meant to be then oh well...we'll have to roll with it!

If you are flying Delta, you will have a better chance of getting out of town as they seem to get a little preference. If flights are cancelling, get there early enough to have better options of changing flights. Or, if you aren't with Delta and your flight is cancelled, see if you can switch to them and get a connection elsewhere.

We are 6:00 a.m. Delta. It doesn't sound like Minneapolis is in the "bulls eye" but you never know?? We're keeping our fingers crossed!
