Follow Up on Twins and a New Truck

For those of you that are following the twins (boys) are due March 4th - C section as they are both still breach and have no room to turn. They will be at 38 weeks - as long as they don't decide to come out sooner. Mom is doing okay but slowing down each hour it seems.

As for the truck. I opted for a leftover 2012 F 150 Crew Cab. I then put an Eagle cap on it, a dog shelf for the dog kenels with drawers under it, and running boards. No deer guard. I also put two LED's in the front grille on a switch just because I couldn't sleep one night. So far I have no complaints on the truck. Attached are two pics.

Congrats on the twins coming! We have five yr old twin girls. Tell your wife twinstuff.com is a very helpful forum for support. The first six months were hard, especially on my wife, but then it is just a complete blessing! I had my girls stacked in front of me today for a snowmobile ride...I need longer arms...

Good luck with the babies when they arrive!

Tell me more about this dog shelf and kennel setup you have in the back of your new truck. I am a big time Duck Hunter and we have hunting labs that we hunt and work religiously throughout the year. I am also in the market for a new Rig in the near future and am interested in how you have the back of your truck set up.

I just put 2 2x4's on the bedliner with some supports underneath and a sheet of 3/4 inch plywood on top with carpeting. On the left I have a custom water hauler made out of large PVC pipe that is zip-tied in. On the bottom of the rig is two pull out drawers. The drawers were from my last truck so they are not as tall as needed for this setup, but I'm not going to do anything till the snow melts.

My father (hired a carpenter) has a wooden box with two drawers in it. The whole box is set on a roller system so it slides in and out with the kennels on top of it.

If I were to redo mine, that is what I would do. He also has windows on the side of his cap that flip up wich is really nice for access - until you drop something down the side of the truck.

I've attached a couple of pictures of mine so you get the idea.

E-mail me at amaduscha@yahoo.com if you have any questions.

Luke Samuel and Trevor Mark were born yesterday. Both doing well (mom also) after some struggles. Will post pics when I find my chord.
