So Mr. Dee I am liking your forecast as Slimcake is right MIDSNOW0125.jpg there. However I have been disappointed many a time. You don't mention a confidence level when talking about this clipper system. I am more familiar with light snow events with clippers. This appears to be much more than that. This would put my trail system around home in great shape as we are right on the line right now. So how you feeling about this turning out as predicted? How excited should Slimcake get?? LOL....

It's always a tricky thing when unusual weather events happen. This is one such case. Clipper systems typically do not produce such healthy snowfall totals, but all the models are indicating this one to do so.

As far as confidence...I think there is a good chance (greater than 75%) that you will see at least 4-5" and probably a 55-60% chance of at least 7-8".

By the way, I was down in your neck of the woods earlier this week (visiting my good friends at the Mayo). I should have seen if you wanted to meet up!

Thanks John. I used to live in Rochester and that is a totally different place today than what it was 15 years ago when I was there. Look me up. Would be happy to buy lunch or dinner anytime John!! Really hoping to ride from home!! We have a tremendous trail system ( I take care of 20 miles myself...) and two brand new 180 Piston Bully's in the shed. Would be nice to put some hours on them!!

Hey John,. Nws is moving the heavy stuff further north. Care to throw in your 2 cents on this clipper track? Our groomers have been out panning and we would be in great shape with 6+!!

Locals moving track north here too but Vilas still on most northern edge of 4+ but heaviest was supposed to be Walworth County now heaviest in Winnebago county 8-10. Idk locals did the same with last storm and heaviest snow did fall southern WI. Sometimes I think locals hedge their bets then storm under achieves. With all the cold dry air snow shows on radar but never hits the ground. Just have to see I guess.

Little if any has changed since to my Friday's forecast. Looking like 8-10" (possibly more) for you Slimcake and in WI, heaviest snow will fall 50-75 miles either side of a line from Milwaukee to Madison to La Crosse. Vilas probably 1-3".

Well it looks like a solid 7-8 inches here at the office. The wind blows so much out at my house I have parts that are only an inch or two and then 4ft deep snow drifts. Pretty fluffy stuff. Hopefully the boys will go out and groom and then with that cold weather it should set up like a rock!! Which speaking of rocks I hit lots of them with my skis yesterday. We did about 80 miles around home here and it wasn't great but I have ridden worse.
