fcat700 - On your Twin Lakes to the Porkies trip, what trails did you take and where did you make your gas stops? How long did it take you? I'm thinking of doing that route in a couple weeks and wanted to plan it before I get there.

We took TR3 south through Mass City to Rockland then TR13 west over to TR101 north. TR101 to TR12 west. Filled with gas in White Pine at the Konteka (87 octane). By the way just an FYI, the guys I was with said octane boost was $30 there, ouch. Then TR1 of course up to the Porkies, spent a half hour up there. Took TR1 back to TR11 south and over to TR102 down to Bergland for another gas up and a Coke at the Bergland Bay Bar. Then rode TR1 down the West Side of the lake to Fishermen's for a lunch. Back on TR1 south with a short stop at the County Park pier to visit the spot my brother past away at 3 years ago to say a little prayer. Then a short ride on TR100 east over to TR13 north all the way back to Rockland for gas and another Coke at Henry's Never Inn and back up TR3. That's a 220 mile ride and including stops took us +/- 8 hours.
